Chisholm's Police Department believes in the concept of "To Protect & Serve".
The mission of the Chisholm Police Department is protect and serve the people of Chisholm through partnerships with the citizens, ensuring a secure and peaceful environment for our community, to promote community commitment and respond to those in need.
Chisholm is a unique place, known as the Heartbeat of the Iron Range. During the 1920's our population was over 10,000.
Our department provides 24 hour service to its citizens. Our force consists of 11 full time officers and one civilian records management administrator. We employ part time officers to fill in when a shortage of personnel occurs. We have two investigators who work closely with the citizens and courts to resolve any crimes we face.
Our officers are first responders for our paid on-call ambulance service. We use two marked squads and one unmarked.
Our 911 system is not just for emergencies and can be used anytime you need to talk with someone in the police, fire, or ambulance departments. Our direct phone number is (218) 254-7915.
We encourage visitors to contact us as we also have some unique ordinances. We enforce "calendar parking" year round because of the early design of many streets. We have a "two hour" parking ordinance in our business district and parking lots.
We welcome you to Chisholm and hope you will enjoy your stay with us.
